Tout commence à l’orée d’une forêt jurassienne. Photographe naturaliste professionnel depuis l’âge de 17 ans, Guillaume François explore un monde libre et sauvage qu’il côtoie avec une authenticité rare. Au plus près de la vie à l’état pur, il livre un travail ancré dans l’émerveillement face à une nature d’une beauté fragile.
L’exposition est le prolongement de son livre majeur, À pas feutrés (Éditions Sentinelle, 2024), préfacé par Hugo Clément. Ce projet est le fruit de 20 ans de terrain et de plus de 3 000 jours à l’affût. Au centre de ce récit se trouve le Lynx boréal, animal totem dont l’artiste a appris à décrypter les indices de présence dès l’enfance. Cette patience infinie a d’ailleurs attiré l’attention de l’astronaute Thomas Pesquet, que Guillaume a guidé au cœur de ses affûts pour le documentaire « Objectif France », afin de souligner la nécessité de préserver cette espèce menacée.

Installée en plein air, le long du chemin forestier du parc, l’exposition joue sur la mise en abyme : les photographies se fondent dans la végétation du Jardin botanique. Le visiteur est invité à ralentir ses pas pour adopter la posture de l’observateur, dans une démarche où la rencontre sauvage ouvre le regard sur un monde qui appelle nos origines.
