Le centenaire de l'Exposition internationale des arts décoratifs et industriels modernes est l'occasion de redécouvrir un joyau de l'Art déco industriel : le siège social nancéien de la Société des Hauts-Fourneaux et Fonderies de Pont-à-Mousson. Ce bâtiment remarquable, conçu par l'architecte Jean Bourgon, témoigne de l'alliance entre architecture et industrie à cette époque.

Jean Bourgon s'est entouré d'une équipe d'artistes décorateurs déjà distingués en 1925 pour la réalisation du pavillon de Nancy et de l'Est de la France. Parmi eux, les vitraillistes Jacques Grüber et André Lemoine, les ferronniers d'art Jean Prouvé et Edgar Brandt, ainsi que le sculpteur Emile Just Bachelet. D'autres artistes parisiens ont également contribué à ce projet, notamment le ferronnier d'art Raymond Subes et les mosaïstes Alphonse Gentil & François Bourdet. L'ensemble du programme décoratif, commandité par le directeur Camille Cavallier, célèbre la grandeur de l'industrie mussipontaine à travers un travail artistique d'exception.
L'exposition et les visites offrent une occasion unique de découvrir cette architecture dans son état d'origine; grâce à l'ouverture exceptionnelle du bâtiment, aujourd'hui propriété de l'Université de Lorraine. Elles sont proposées par les étudiants de deuxième année du master Histoire de l'Art - Métiers des musées et des expositions (HAMME) de l'Université de Lorraine.
